Swiss Federal Certificate – Revision for Returning Students
Target audience
This course is particularly aimed at those who have already taken the Federal Certificate in Finance and Accounting exam and unfortunately failed. It is also aimed at anyone who has completed the preparatory course for the exam but has not yet taken it.
Content
This training consists of optional modules and two weeks of seminars.
Classes will be opened based on an adequate number of admissions.
The exam will take place in 2027 or 2028, depending on your choice.

Not included in the cost of training:
The exam fee is not included.
It must be paid directly to the exam secretariat of the Swiss Umbrella Association for Professional and Higher Education Exams.

Admission requirements
A Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC), a high school diploma, a specialized high school diploma, a certificate from a general education school, or an equivalent qualification.
Four years of professional experience after initial training (FCC or equivalent qualifications), including at least two years of proven experience in accounting and finance.
Training content
Evening classes
5 semesters, approximately 730 periods of 45 minutes
Training begins in January, federal exam in March 2027
Twice a week from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Personal work between 8 and 10 hours per week
Next session: January 2026 (federal exam in March 2027)
Daytime classes
4 semesters, approximately 730 periods of 45 minutes

Friday afternoons, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

FINANCING OF TRAINING BY THE SWISS CONFEDERATION
Candidates taking courses to prepare for a federal exam may receive financial support from the Swiss Confederation. Up to 50% of the cost of courses preparing for a federal certificate or diploma is reimbursed (maximum CHF 9,500 for a federal certificate and maximum CHF 10,500 for a federal diploma), provided that candidates have registered, paid the course fees, and take the federal exam after the courses.
OTHER ORGANIZATIONS
There are also other support organizations, particularly those specific to certain industries. Some associations or organizations help candidates finance their training. We recommend researching the professions in your industry.
Objectives
This training course provides participants with the necessary skills in accounting and finance to pass their BFSFC exam.
Prerequisites
Candidates are eligible to take the exam if they:
a) hold the following qualifications:
Federal Certificate of Competence or a certificate from a business school recognized by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) or a high school diploma;
Certificate as an accounting assistant with at least two years of training;
Certificate of a professional examination or diploma of a higher professional examination;
Qualification from a college, university, or technical college.
b) can provide evidence of three years of professional experience.
Professional experience within the meaning of these examination regulations means qualified work in one or more areas of accounting, fiduciary activities, or taxation. The deadline for providing proof of professional experience is the start date of the examination.
c) have no entries in the central criminal record relating to their professional activities.
At the time of registration for the BF exams in the April 2027 session, i.e., no later than June 30, 2026, candidates must:
1- hold one or more IT diplomas recognized by the examination board: e.g., PU41 Office Integration (Tabellen & Daten) from SIZ, Microsoft Excel Expert (Exam MO-201) from Microsoft;
2- Have successfully completed the online modules in the field of leadership functions in a timely manner or be able to present one of the following certificates:
3- ASFC Leadership Certificate (Swiss Association for Management Training);
4- ZRK Certificate (Leadership Training for Senior and Middle Management);
5- CAS in the field of leadership functions.
