Swiss Federal Certificate in Preparatory course for Human Resources Specialist

Classes begin on January 6, 2026.
Classes will be opened based on enrollment.
The exam will take place in either 2027 or 2028, depending on your choice.

Duration of training:

12 or 24 months, depending on your choice

Total cost per year: CHF 11,300

This amount includes:
Application fees
Course materials
Questionnaires and revision handouts
Preparation for the final exam

Not included in the cost of the training:
The exam fee is not included. It must be paid directly to the exam office of the Swiss Umbrella Association for Professional and Higher Education Exams.

Target audience

This program is intended for practitioners in the fields of human resource management, company law, social security law, and international affairs as well as training personnel and anyone wishing to update their knowledge.

Career prospects

This training program enables individuals to acquire the skills necessary to hold management positions in human resources and as executives within their company:

Admission requirements

A Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC), a high school diploma, a specialized high school diploma, a certificate from a general education school, or an equivalent qualification.

In case that a person does not meet the above the requirements, the following conditions apply:

Four years of professional experience after initial training (CFC or equivalent qualifications), including at least two years of proven experience in accounting and finance.

Training content

Evening classes

5 semesters, approximately 730 periods of 45 minutes

Training begins in January, federal exam in March 2027

Twice a week from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Homework between 8 and 10 hours per week

Next session: January 2026 (federal exam in March 2027)

FINANCEMENT D’UNE FORMATION PAR LA CONFEDERATION

Les candidats suivant les cours de préparation à un examen fédéral peuvent recevoir un soutien financier de la Confédération. Jusqu’à 50 % des frais de cours préparant à un Brevet ou Diplôme fédéral est remboursé (maximum 9500 francs pour un Brevet fédéral, et maximum CHF 10’500 pour un Diplôme fédéral), à condition que les candidat-e-s se soient inscrit, payé les frais de cours et se présentent à l’examen fédéral après les cours.

AUTRES ORGANISMES

Par ailleurs, il existe d’autres organismes de soutien, notamment par branche d’activité. Certaines associations ou organismes soutiennent les candidats dans le financement de leur formation. Nous vous conseillons d’effectuer des recherches sur les métiers de votre branche.

 

Objectives

This training course provides participants with the necessary skills in accounting and finance to pass their BFSFC exam.

Prerequisites

Candidates are eligible to take the exam if they:

a) hold the following qualifications:

Federal Certificate of Professional Competence or a certificate from a business school recognized by the State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation (SERI) or a high school diploma;

Certificate as an HR assistant with at least two years of training;

Certificate of a professional examination or diploma of a higher professional examination;

Qualification from a college, university, or university of applied sciences. 

OR

b) can provide evidence of three years of professional experience.

Professional experience within the meaning of these examination regulations means qualified work in one or more areas of human resources management, labour law, social security law, etc. The deadline for providing proof of professional experience is the start date of the examination.

c) have no entries in the central criminal record relating to their professional activities..

At the time of registration for the HR exams in the April 2027 session, i.e., no later than June 30, 2026, candidates must:

1- Hold one or more IT qualifications recognized by the examination board: e.g., PU41 Office Integration (Tables & Data) from SIZ, Microsoft Excel Expert (MO-201 exam) from Microsoft;

2- Have successfully completed the online modules in the field of management functions in a timely manner or be able to present one of the following certificates:

3- ASFC Leadership Certificate (Swiss Association for Management Training);

4- ZRK Certificate (Management Training for Senior and Middle Management);

5- CAS in the field of management functions.
